Разработчики опубликовали небольшую заметку для игроков, которые захотят вернуться в WoW во Wrath of the Lich King Classic. В ней в основном рассказывается о восстановлении учетной записи и получении помощи в игре, но есть и некоторые детали насчет игровых миров «Нового начала», что должны появиться с выходом предварительного обновления. Игровые миры «Нового начала» откроются с запуском предварительного обновления Wrath of the Lich King Classic 31 августа и на них до выхода дополнения будет доступен весь предыдущий контент.

В течение как минимум 90 дней игроки не смогут пользоваться услугой мгновенного повышения уровня или переносить на них персонажей с других миров, а для создания рыцаря смерти будет требоваться наличие героя 55 уровня на том же сервере.
